Women's Water Polo Has Three Named All-Western State Conference

VALLEY VILLAGE, CA - Women's Water Polo had three Monarchs named to the All-Western State Conference team.

Goal keeper Zoey Francis was named to the first team.  Teammates Kyra Freemon and Kelly Long were named to the second team.

Zoey Francis had an incredible, consistent year in goal, earning her her first team credits.  Sixteen times this season Francis had double-digit save totals - her highest total came against Grossmont when Francis stopped 24 goals from making their way to the back of the net.  She also had 19 saves against Ventura and 18 against Cerritos.  Nineteen times this fall Francis held her opponents to just single-digit scores.

Kyra Freemon was a leading goal scorer for the Monarchs, earning her second team accolades.  Freemon scored 81 total goals this year.  Four different times she scored six goals - twice against East L.A., against Crafton HIlls and Southwestern.  She also assisted with 40 goals for the Monarchs.

Kelly Long was an assist and steals machine for the Monarchs in 2023 for her second team honors.  Long assisted in 48 goals this year.  She also had 43 steals on defense.

Incredible and well deserved Monarchs!
