Women's Water Polo Dominates Long Beach Tournament

CYPRESS, CA - Women's Water Polo had a dominant performance at the Long Beach City Tournament over the weekend winning all four of their games.

The first win came against San Diego Mesa with a score of 14-9.  The Monarchs and Mesa played a close game, with the Monarchs leading by just one goal going into the second half.  Out of the break, Women's Water Polo showed that they wanted to win this game by shutting out San Diego Mesa from scoring in the third quarter. This allowed the Monarchs to pull ahead and solidify the win.

Kyra Freemon led in scoring with four goals.  Clarisa Robles and Demy Brati each contributed three goals the cause. 

The Monarchs had a similar score against East LA, winning 14-7.  All of East L.A.'s goals came in the first quarter - after that the Huskies were shut out, allowing the Monarchs to take the lead. Freemon was once again the leading scorer in the game - this time with five goals.  Robles had another three goal performance.

Saturday saw the Monarchs come back and continue their domination.  First up was a 16-4 win over Southwestern.  Freemon once again led the Monarchs, this time with six goals.  Zoey Francis had a tremendous game in goal with a total of 13 saves.  The Monarchs finished their tournament with a 10-6 win over Cypress.

The Monarchs return to the pool with a game on the road on Wednesday, October 25 at 5:00 p.m.  The game will take place at Citrus.
