Women's Swimming and Diving Finish Second at PCC Invite

EAST LOS ANGELES, CA - The LA Valley Women's Swim and Dive team took second place at the Pasadena City College Invite last weekend, the highest finish in school history.

The Monarchs did it with 660 points on the day, finishing just behind Diablo Valley College. It was a total team effort, but the Monarchs did have some standout performances that helped push them into that second place spot.

Lilliana Noriega blew everyone away when she finished in first place in four different races that day - she won the 50 and 100 yard Freestyle and the 100 and 200 yard Backstroke races.  Noriega also helped her teammates Mariane Avila, Zoey Francis and Kyra Freemon win the 400 yard Medley Relay.

The Monarchs dominated the Diving portion of the Invite, taking the top three spots in both the one meter and three meter dives.  The one meter dive saw Kyra Freemon finish first, Becky Barahona finish second and Demy Brati finish third.  The three meter dive had a little different top three with Brati finishing first, Freemon second and Barahona third.

Unbelievable showing Monarchs, one for the history books!
