Women's Soccer has Three Named All-Western State Conference

VALLEY VILLAGE, CA - The LAVC Women's Soccer team had three Monarchs named to the All-Western State Conference team.

Andrea Martin was named first team for her outstanding efforts during the 2023 season.  Katherine Lopez and Phoenix Becerra were both named second team all-Western State Conference.

Martin was a leading goal scorer for the Monarchs - scoring nine goals in the 2023 season.  Twice this year she scored two goals in a game - at a tough 4-3 loss at Bakersfield and in the 5-0 win against Glendale to end the season.  She also contributed to her teammates scoring by collecting eight assists this year.  Her highest assist game came against L.A. City when she had three assists in a 5-0 victory.

Katherine Lopez was a staunch line in the middle of the field, creating plays for her teammates throughout the year.  She scored one goal in the 4-3 win against Victory Valley.  She also had one assist in the 2-0 win at Santa Ana.

Becerra was also a top scorer in 2023, scoring six goals for the Monarchs.  In the loss against Harbor, Becerra was the only scorer, scoring both goals.  She also had three assists this year leading to her second team selection.
