Women's Basketball Extends Winning Streak to Four

SANTA CLARITA, CA - Women's Basketball extended their current winning streak to four games with a 81-70 win over College of the Canyons.

The Monarchs were ready to go from the tip, when they took at 24-7 lead in the first quarter.  Their lead remained strong going into the second half - 45-32.  Canyons began to comeback after the break, but Monarchs balance of defense and scoring solidified the 81-70 win.

Three Monarchs finished with 63 of the 81 points scored, each scoring more than 20 points in the game.  Samantha Maldonado led all her teammates adding another double-double to her young resume with 22 points and 14 rebounds.  Madison Guererro finished just behind her with 21 points, including two three pointers.  Laila Salazar contributed 21 points of her own.

The Women's Basketball team returns home on Wednesday, February 7 for a game with Antelope Valley College at 7:00 p.m. in the South Gym.
