Women's Basketball Dominates Santa Monica With the Help of Two Double-Doubles

SANTA MONICA, CA - The LAVC Women's Basketball team dominated Santa Monica, beating the Corsairs 84-52.
The Monarchs started the game hot, going up 34-11 going into the second quarter. The Corsairs closed the point gap a little in the second, but the Monarchs never gave in, beating the Corsairs by more than 30 points.
Three Monarchs helped with the domination - Mary Corbett (right) led everyone with 27 points including five three-pointers. Gizelle Moreno had a double-double with 13 rebounds and 13 points. Samantha Maldonado also put up a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
The Monarchs return home with a game against West L.A. on Saturday, January 27 at 5:00 p.m. in the South Gym.
