Women's Basketball Finishes SF Tournament with a Win

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Women's Basketball finished up the San Francisco tournament with a 82-68 win over East Los Angeles.

Although the Monarchs found themselves down 18-14 after the first quarter, the Women worked hard and tied the game up at the half.  It was the third quarter that secured the win for the Monarchs - LAVC held the Huskies to just eight points coming out of the break.  The fourth quarter was close, but ultimately that third quarter allowed the Monarchs to pull away and get the 82-68 win.

Laila Salazar (pictured) had a double-double in the game with 15 points and 10 assists.  Mary Corbett led the Monarchs with 22 points, including hitting four three pointers. Ashley Jeong contributed 16 points of her own.

The Monarchs will play their next game at home on Friday, December 29 against Cypress at 6:00 p.m.
