Women's Basketball Bounces Back in Conference

GLENDORA - Women's Basketball bounced back in Conference play with a 61-38 win over Citrus, on Saturday.

The Monarchs suffered their first loss in Conference to Glendale, at home, earlier in the week.  But that did not get the Monarchs down!  In the first quarter against Citrus, the Women stormed out to a 18-11 lead.  They maintained that lead with the help of their lock down defense, giving up single digit scores to Citrus in the second and third quarters - six points and seven points respectively.

Sophomore Jordyn Jiron had another outstanding Western State Conference game with team leading 17 points and seven rebounds.  Jacqueline Privado and Emilie Brugna each scored 11 for the Monarchs.  Brugna also had four rebounds, including two huge offensive rebounds.

The Women's team hopes to create a new winning streak with they travel to play West L.A.,  Saturday, January 21, at 3:00 p.m.
