COMPTON, CA - The LA Valley College Football team won their first game of 2023 with a 38-0 shut out of Compton.
Offensively, the Monarchs scored three rushing touchdowns by three different players. Graham Blubaugh, Bryan Massengale and Jonathan Aguirre all ran one in to put the Monarchs on the board.
Defensively, one Monarch stood out on the field. Isai Perez II (pictured) led with eight tackles, including four tackles that totalled 20 yards of losses. He also had two sacks and returned one fumble recovery for a touchdown. Perez was named the Souther California Football Association's Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding efforts in the win.
The Monarchs hit the road again Saturday, September 16 for a 6:00 p.m. game at Victor Valley.
