Baseball Explodes for 21 Runs against Long Beach City

VALLEY GLEN, CA -  Baseball exploded for a 21-12 wild win over Long Beach City.

For the first three innings of the game it was a back and forth affair with Valley taking the lead, and the Long Beach stealing it back. The tide started to turn in Valley's direction, though, as early as the third inning when the Monarchs hit three doubles in a row to put the team up 6-3. 

Long Beach came back harsh and finish up the third inning up 7-6 on the Monarchs.  Not to worry, the Monarchs topped their doubles streak the previous inning by hitting four singles in a row with the bases loaded.  Oskar Stark, Will White, Vic Pico and  Eddie Zapata helped push the Monarchs back into the lead. The singles run was topped off by Sean David hitting a run one triple in the right field corner. The Monarchs finished the fourth inning up 9-7 on Long Beach.  The Monarchs finished the fourth up 10-7 after holding Long Beach to zero runs in the fourth.

After the fourth, the Monarchs just piled on their lead finishing with the 21-12 win over Long Beach City.

Eight out of nine Monarch starters finished the game with at least one run batted in (RBI). Four Monarchs had at least four hits.  Three Monarchs had at least 3 hits.

Will White and Eddie Zapata led all Monarchs both going 4-5 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Sean David finished the game 3-5, hitting his triple and backing that up with a bunt single in his next at bat.  Oskar Stark was 4-6 and scored four runs.

Baseball hosts Folsom Lake Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 8-10.  Game times are 2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.
