Baseball Heads to Cuesta in First Round of CCCAA Playoffs

The L.A. Valley College Baseball team is headed to Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo for the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) playoffs.

Game one of the three game series will take place on Friday, May 5 - first pitch will be at 2:00 p.m.  Game two will take place Saturday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m. In the event of a tie of games between the two teams, the if necessary game will be play at 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

The Monarchs finished their regular season with a 14-7 Western State Conference record, and a 23-17 overall record.

Cuesta finished their regular season with a 17-7 conference record, and a 24-14-1 overall record.

On paper, the matchup between these two teams seems pretty even.  Cuesta finished their season hitting .295 as a team, while Valley finished the year hitting .277.  Cuesta just edged out Valley in total hits with 398 to Valley's 374.  Valley's Conference E.R.A was first in the league at 3.64 - Cuesta's was 3.38.
