Baseball and Women's Basketball Walk away from Saturday with Wins

VALLEY GLEN, CA - Saturday saw the first triple-header of 2024 at LA Valley College, where the Monarchs walked away with two out of three wins.

The LAVC Baseball team started out the day hammering Oxnard 16-2!  Oxnard jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning.  A relaxed and confident Monarch team proceeded to tally 16 unanswered runs after that short lived lead.  Oskar Stark led the Monarchs with two home runs totally six RBIs.

Men's Basketball took a tough loss against West LA, 102-87.

Women's Basketball bounced back, though, beating West LA 75-60.  Mary Corbett led the Monarchs with 28 points in the game, including five three pointers.

Great job Monarchs!  Baseball continues their home stand on Tuesday, January 30 at 2:00 p.m. against Harbor College.  Men's and Women's Basketball also continue their home streak with a double-header on Wednesday, January 31 against Bakersfield.  The Men tip off at 5:00 p.m. and the Women follow at 7:00 p.m.
