Athletes of the Week - 1/15

Congratulations to the LA Valley College Athletes of the Week, Samantha Maldonado and Kaden Porter!

Women's Basketball player Samantha Maldonado helped the Monarchs begin Conference 1-1 with back-to-back double-double games.  In a tough loss against Canyons, she had 12 points and collected 15 rebounds.  In the bounce back win against Antelope Valley College her split was 14 and 16, respectively. 

Men's Basketball player Kaden Porter was a huge contributor to the Men's team also beginning their Conference experience 1-1.  He created shots for teammates, he collected rebounds and he put in some timely shots into the bucket.  

Both Women's and Men's Basketball remains on the road for Wednesday's Western State Conference games at Glendale - the Men will play at 5:00 p.m and the Women will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, January 20 will see both Monarch teams return home for games against Citrus and 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
