Athletes of the Week - 12/18

Congratulations to the LAVC Athletes of the Week Mary Corbett and Yah Humphrey!

Women's Basketball player Corbett had a strong showing at the San Francisco City tournament scoring over 20 points in two out of the Monarchs three games.  She had and even 20 in the loss to Santa Rosa, including four three pointers.  Mary had four three pointers in the win against East L.A., as well, adding to her 22 point total in the game.  

Yah Humphrey scored in the double-digits in both Monarch games last week.  He led his team with 13 points in the loss to Irvine Valley last Friday.  It was a couple of timely three's, though, that helped propel the Monarchs to an exciting win over Ventura - had had a total of 14 points in that win.

Women's Basketball will play one more game in 2023 on Friday, December 29 at 6:00 p.m. versus Cypress at LA Valley.  The Men's team will return in the new year with a game on Thursday, January 4 at 6:00 p.m. versus Oxnard.
