Athletes of the Week - 10/9

Congratulations to the Los Angeles Valley College Athletes of the Week, Kyra Freemon and Andrew Azarian!

Kyra had an incredible week scoring a total of 12 goals in a three game stretch for the Monarchs.  Her biggest game came when she scored six goals in the Water Polo team's win over Crafton Hills. Freemon also led her team in steals and assists, as well as goals.  

Andrew Azarian is currently hurt for the Men's Water Polo team, but showed what a phenomenal teammate he is.  While the Monarchs were at the Riverside tournament, Azarian gathered balls, handed out water and was the first one off the bench to high five teammates.  He didn't let his injury get him down, and showed his teammates what it means to be a team player.

Congrats Kyra and Andrew, keep up the great work!  Both men's and women's Water Polo return home for a double-header on Wednesday, October 11 against Santa Monica.  The men will start the day at 3:00 p.m. and the women will follow at 4:30 p.m.  Head out the Aquatics Center to watch our Athletes of the Week!
