September Athletes of the Month

Congratulations to the September Athletes of the Month, Zoey Francis and Monarchs Football defense!

Zoey Francis is the goal keeper for the Women's Water Polo team and has been the most integral part of the Monarchs defense.  During the September stretch the Monarchs won five of their eight games.  During those eight games, five times Francis had double-digit saves in goal.  Her career high in saves came against Cerritos, when she was able to block 18 of the Falcon's shots, holding them to just four goals on the day. Francis' outstanding September makes us eager to watch her as the fall season goes on!

Our other Athletes of the Month include the entirety of the Monarchs Football Defense.  The Monarchs are currently the number two ranked defense in the state of California! With a 3-2 record in September, the Monarchs defensive highlight came against Compton when they gave up zero points to the Tartars.  Numerous interceptions, sacks and well timed stops have earned the team defense a well deserved acknowledgment for September.

Women's Water Polo will play in the Crafton Hills mini tournament this weekend, Saturday, October 7, games are at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Football has a bye this week but will return to the field Thursday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m. at West L.A.
