Athlete of the Week 3/13 - Lilliana Noriega

The Los Angeles Valley College Athlete of the Week for the week of March 13, is Swimmer Lilliana Noriega!

Noriega set a new Valley College record in the 50 yard freestyle race at last week's Western State Conference meet number two.  She won the race finishing in 25 seconds flat - a record last set in 1975!  

The 50 yard spring wasn't the only part of her stand out performance - Noriega was a part of two relay teams that had a second place and fourth place finish.  The second place finish was in 400 yard freestyle relay, Noriega and teammates Kyra Freemon, Zoey Francis and Liza Gorelik swam a time of 3:56.04 for the finish.  The same group finished fourth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:49.87

Noriega finished her day with a fifth place finish in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 56.17.

More than well deserved Lilliana!  Congratulations on breaking a 48 year school record and being named Athlete of the Week!
