Athletes of the Week 1/30 - Jaramillo and Velasco

The Los Angeles Valley College Athletes of the Week are Women's Basketball player Juliet Jaramillo and Baseball player Bobby Velasco!

Juliet Jaramillo was an integral part of the Monarch's huge comeback over Antelope Valley College, last week.  In the fourth quarter, and in overtime, Jaramillo scored 14 points, coming off the bench, to solidify the win for the Monarchs.  She also collected seven rebounds and hit two three-pointers in the game.

Bobby Velasco has had a hot start to the 2023 Baseball season.  Against Pasadena City College Velasco went 3-4 at the plate with double, but his most important contribution was his one run - the game winner in the 5-4 win.  Velasco also had a key RBI against Long Beach in a wild 11-10 comeback victory for the Monarchs.

Congratulations Juliet and Bobby!  Keep up the great work!

You can catch Juliet at home against Citrus on Wednesday, February 8 at 5:00 p.m.  Velasco travels to Folsom Lake this weekend for a three game set against the Falcons, but will be back home against Pierce on Thursday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m.
