The Los Angeles Valley College Women's Soccer team opened up their 2024 season with a 3-1 win over L.A. City College.
Three different Monarchs scored in the game to give the team the two goal lead. Angie Gomez was the first to score, putting the ball in back the net in the 18th minute. Just two minutes later, Desiree Monge scored with an assist from Samantha Valencia. Monge played so well Friday night that she wanted to be apart of the next goal - she set up her teammate Monica Velazquez Rodas to score and earned the assist.
The Monarchs play their next game at home on Tuesday, August 27 at 4 p.m. against Victor Valley.
