Baseball Continues Western State Conference Winning Ways Against Canyons

VALLEY GLEN - Baseball continued to win in the Western State Conference play Thursday, when they beat College of the Canyons, 8-3.

Danny Veloz pushed his overall record to 4-1 with a dominant performance on the mound - he threw seven scoreless innings, giving up just two hits, zero runs, and striking out 10 batters.  Veloz's slider was on point all day, which led to Canyons hitters waving at everything he threw up there.  

Two hitters dominated the day at the plate.  Hitting back to back in the line up, Max Aude (picture) and Sean David each had three runs batted in for the Monarchs.  Aude hit in his runs going 2-5 with a double; David did it going 2-4 with a double of his own.

The Monarchs continue their series against the Cougars on Friday, March 17 with a game at Canyons at 2:30 p.m.
